The historical core of the collection is formed by instruments made or used by the Geneva scholar Horace-Benedict de Saussure (1740-1799) a pioneer of modern meteorology The Musée has some hair hygrometer, atmospheric electrometers, barometers, and cyanometer used by Saussure for this measurements. Beside Saussure’s items the Musée has also some interesting hygrometers or barometer of the 18th and 19th century.
