Picturing Meteorology – USA

I am an historian of meteorology as well as a collector. My interests are mainly 19^th and 20^th century materials, usually in English.

   

My collection includes several hundred photographs, advertisements, cartoons, How do you like this map Silk Wind and Current Map, 1944 used by airmen during WWII? I have textbooks, children’s books, and examples of meteorology in popular culture. In addition to paper, I’ve acquired a few small objects, like Irving Krick’s 1949 “Weather Guide.”  I explore these compelling images and historical themes.
